We hope you had a great Thanksgiving and that you haven’t been trampled by a mob of Christmas shoppers. As the weather gets colder, we’ll be keeping the library toasty (as long as the boiler holds out) and we have some fun programming lined up for the holiday school break:
Tuesday, December 27th at 5:30 pm, we’re going to be holding a mystery box escape for families! This is a fun event where you can test your detective skills by locating clues around the library and deciphering a series of locks to access the treasure hidden in a locked box. There’s going to be an introduction you won’t want to miss, so if you’re going to participate, make sure you’re here on time! It should last about an hour.
On Thursday, December 29th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Menands library will be hosting a “Take it Apart” night. Got a toy or old electronic device you want to take apart and see what’s inside? Maybe even try to fix it? We’ll provide the tools and the know-how (and a few of our junk drawer phones and hard drives) you provide the curiosity! Meanwhile, we’ll accept donations of old technology to be taken apart that night. We’ll recycle the bits when you’re done.
